"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15
In 2011, Haven originally began as a dream. "In my dream, I was sitting on a table in the middle of the room. I was surrounded by people sitting on couches, and I had my Bible open. I was teaching them," says Jacob Gunther, founder and pastor. "God showed me, this is your future, this is a ministry I have for you." The Lord gave him the name "Haven" because it was to be a safe haven for anyone to come, be refreshed in the Spirit, learn about their identity in Christ, grow in the gifts and callings God has placed on them, and life a life of victory.
After a few years of waiting faithfully on the Lord and ministering to others, Jacob met Ronnie Webster, who was leading Identity House at the time. They knew immediately they were to become partners in ministry, and in the late summer of 2013, Ronnie came to visit the little group. The Holy Spirit came and moved in a mighty and powerful way. Everyone in the house was up until the early hours of the morning, experiencing the prophetic anointing of God and worshipping the Father for His mighty works. Haven was truly born that night.
Since then, the house church has continued to flourish. It has seen many lives changed through healing and divine encounters with the Father. Haven's mission statement rings true to both the original vision and the current culture. So come, be refreshed. Be a part of a family. Sit in God's glory and linger in the Father's love. Learn about who you are, and who God has called you to be. Come grow in practicing your gifts, and in grace and truth. His kingdom is within us.
Inside Haven House
Meet the Leaders
Jacob Gunther is the founder and pastor of Haven House since its origin in 2013. Jacob grew up doing ministry and missionary work as a part of the International Pentacostal Holiness Church, traveling to Africa, Belize, and throughout several states. He recieved the vision for Haven House while on the mission field in Hawaii, and upon returning to the mainland, took steps to make it a reality.
Since then, Haven has grown into a thriving community focused on family, finding true identity in Christ, and properly loving those around you. Jacob continues to pour out and lead Haven through teaching and discipleship, as well as contribute on the main leadership team for the Identity Network.
When he's not ministering, you can usually find Jacob at a local comic shop or spending quality time with family. He currently lives in Norfolk, Virginia with his lovely wife Linda (who he met through ministry at Haven) and their daughter Kylie.
